Legal Experience & Credentials
Judge Moyé presides over the 14th Judicial District Court of Texas, sitting in Dallas County. He was first elected to this court in November 2008. Judge Moyé was also appointed in 1992 by Gov. Ann Richards to serve as Judge of the 101st Judicial District Court.
Prior to taking the bench, Judge Moyé commenced his legal career with Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld, L.L.P., and formerly was a Partner and Member of the Management Committee of Vial, Hamilton, Koch & Knox, L.L.P., before becoming a founding Partner of Vincent & Moyé, P.C.
In addition to his judicial service, Judge Moyé has more than 25 years of civil legal experience. He has represented large and small businesses in all manner of commercial litigation. He is licensed by the Supreme Court of the United States, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, the U.S. Court of Claims, the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Eastern and Southern Districts of Texas and the Northern District of California, all Courts of the State of Texas, and all Courts of the State of New York.
Judge Moyé is a graduate of Harvard Law School (1979) and Southern Methodist University (1976, with Distinction).
Professional Organization & Community Work
Judge Moyé has been active in numerous professional organizations including membership in the State Bar of Texas, the State Bar of New York, the American Bar Association, the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, the Dallas Bar Association, the Panel of Arbitrators of the American Arbitration Association, the American Association for Justice, the American Judicature Society, and the Texas Bar Foundation.
He was formerly President of the Harvard Law School Alumni Association of Texas, and he is active in the Harvard Club of Dallas. He was a Founding Board Member of the Dispute Mediation Service of Dallas more than 30 years ago, and he currently sits on the Founding Board of the University of North Texas School of Law, the first and only public law school in the North Texas region. Judge Moyé has also served as an Adjunct Faculty Member at Southern Methodist University, and, for more than 20 years, he has been a Member of the Guest Faculty instructing at the Harvard Law School Trial Advocacy Workshop.
Judge Moyé has been active politically with numerous Democratic campaigns, including service as a Delegate to the 1992 Democratic National Convention, and he has volunteered with numerous community organizations including Habitat for Humanity.
